Description Many forces drive the world, be they mathematical or metaphorical.

No matter how you count it, decay is one of those forces. The physicists call it 'thermodynamics', the second law of which says that disorder must always increase in any closed system. The philosophers say that everything must die.

The figure before you is dressed in an ankle-length, hooded black coat. The top of it is form-fitting, with padded shoulders and bell cuffs, black gloves beneath. A very heavy silver zipper with one top slide and one bottom slide holds the coat secure until about the knees, where it flares apart. A chain hangs around the neck, silver and glittering like the zipper. Two drawstrings hang from the pulled-over hood, each ended with a weight. The weight is shaped like a ring, with a short, arrowhead-like projection from each of the cardinal directions. Visible underneath the coat is a pair of lightweight cloth pants and a pair of strong, work-hardened boots.

The only indication of species about the thin, light form is the nine tails, long, black, and fluffy with dark-green tips that pour from the rear of the coat. Occasional flashes of light into the hood will reveal a thin vulpine muzzle, a shock of lime-green 'hair', and ... a blindfold.

Across his back is a scythe. It's five feet long, a foot shorter than its owner. The haft is bent in thresher style, while the blade is double-edged in the combat modus. The blade is sharp black glass, strengthened with a copper core. The haft is steel, shiny and polished.
