Personality Ryan’s personality can be summed up into a few traits: kind to others, cautious to the point of nervousness short of fear, reliance on common sense, and finally with a slight depressive streak he tries to keep repressed. All bets are off though if he seriously enters a combat situation though. Then, it’s almost like the emotion switch is turned off.
Powers Ryan is a sorcery by birth with three sorceries at his disposal. All are usable at will, but only within the parameters given below.



Orb of Light: Ryan is able to create a small, golf ball sized orb of light. The light radiated from this orb is of torch flame intensity. It tends to float in the air above the palm of his hand, though it can be willed to move about in the general area of either hand, or set about to orbit around his head. It can't exist outside these predefined areas. Only one orb can be created at a time. The spell is completely mental in execution.



Passive Detection of Magic: When he wants to, Ryan can see magic. He can do so on a passive sense only, detecting that which is active or just plain radiating magic. The spell is completely metal in execution, though it relies on his visual perception to work.



Healing of Others: Finally, Ryan can heal the injuries of others. This is the only one of Ryan's abilities that isn't limited to just cantrip level power, but at the same time is the most restricted. First, it doesn't work on himself, only others. Second, it directly affects only physical injuries, bodily impurities, and minor infection. Other forms of illness are only affected because the body’s ability to fight them is improved with the other problems fixed. Finally, he requires both direct flesh to flesh contact with the person he is healing, and has to maintain a low vocal chant while casting the spell.
Weaknesses Curse:Ryan is a cursed cat. It’s a family curse, passed down from father to child, and has one very basic effect: demon attraction. Sometimes he runs into them, sometimes they run into him, and other times time and space just sort of pops in kind of embarrassing ways. It’s constant, and can’t be turned off. Thankfully it normally happens in the background.



Restraint: Ryan is, despite not being normal, trying to appear normal. He holds back from reacting from stuff he could handle or at least help with, and tends to stay in the background in general. He only shows his full ability when alone usually, though by now at least some people have found out. (Actual RPed events. You’ll know if you’re one of them)
Skills Ryan is skilled in the use of the longsword. Outside the use of the longsword, his combat ability is completely limited to reflexes and improvisation.



Combat aside, Ryan is a good cook, and someone who was at least smart enough to get into college. He does have some general knowledge on magic and demons, and a few other basic skills that everyone from a modern society tends to have even if we don’t consider then skills.

Description Before you stands a male cat. His fur is almost completely white with the exception of his left ears, which has a splotch of black. His eyes are an emerald green, and his hair is a light blonde that is almost as white as his fur. The hair is cut short and combed in a nice, neat, simple manner. His height is average, and his build is average but in a fit way, with no flab and good tone.

His clothing consists of a pair of black shoes, loose black pants, and a loose white shirt covered with an unbuttoned buttoned down shirt. He has no accessories of note, just a basic belt and a cheap plastic watch. He moves with the normal grace that one would expect from a cat, and doesn't appear to stay still at all, even if it is just his tail twitching.
Other Description
History Ryan belongs to a cursed family. The curse has been for centuries that members of the Galen family attract demons. He grew up knowing this curse, and was trained to handle it. He was trained in the use of the long sword by his farther, and also developed the sorcery he inherited from his mother, particularly the ability to heal. Other than that he lived a normal childhood with the only difference being he was trained to kill any demon that showed its head.

Then something happened everyone had been dreading, his mother died of the cancer that had been developing for years. His farther and sister took things in stride and left to the wanders life like most people with such a curse, but Ryan was different. He failed to heal his mother, but in doing so he developed a desire to heal others stronger then what he had been train for most of his life. He wanted to become a doctor so he could use his abilities without being noticed, so at the he went to the only place someone with a curse like his could pull it off, SMT.

He is currently studying at SMT University, working side jobs around the city since with the curse he is unable to stay at one for to long. He is a good cook, and has made a habit of going on blind dates, though most of them turn out to be demons and the rest just think he is boring. He plans lead to normal life, so he tries to hide his curse from others, not really fighting in public and coming up with excuses when people walk in on him with dead demon corpses. He also leaves his long sword at home, since it would attract too much attention. Basically, he is just trying to be normal.

Misc Info / Links 12/22/2002 Ryan gets hit by Gun Bunny's personality splitter. End split released at least one part of his personality he normally keeps repressed: the combat edge, battle calm, or whatever you want to call it/him. Split lasted for about one week before he was pulled back together.



9/06/2003 After a full year of suspecting, Don accidentally said what he knew about Ryan. Some talk later he came clean with Don, and with the resulting conversation was finally pushed over the point he need to cross to begin to recover from his past. Proceeded to tell at least a two other friends the truth, but is still hiding the truth of his nature from all but a few other people around town.
