| Personality | Ethan, after being through quite a lot, has developed a firm belief that people should spend less time being upset, and should try as hard as possible no matter what happens to enjoy themselves, but has also become rather callous about his own safety, and is quite the cocky little jerk and would quite happily slap your in the face with his ego. He's horribly crass, vulgar and also immune to ANYTHING that could be branded disturbing through overabundant usage of the internet. Because of this he can spurt out offensive phrases without caring about those he offends, even if they happen to be his own teammates or even someone he's trying to woo. |

During the time he travelled with his parents, finding a new home to stay, Ethan discovered strange things, things new to him on the internet (mainly porn and sites dedicated to causing optical and psychological damage). During this time, he met a rather anti-social boy named Mike Osovd. Their personalities inevitably clashed, and it ended with Ethan completely humiliating Mike and causing him to become bitter and hateful at all life, including that on the internet.
In an attempt to get his own back at Ethan, Mike hacks into Ethan's computer, and plants a virus which would cause Ethan's computer to explode and take him out in the process. However, at the time the ticking timebomb was meant to go off, Ethan spills a bottle of Diet Beaties (Enjoy!) onto his tower, which caused the antivirus and Mike's virus on his computer to become sentient and have an epic battle on Ethan's very own monitor screen. In a climatic clash of JPEGs, MP3s and even entire folders being thrown at each other, Ethan downloads an antivirus update in which the antivirus barely defeats the virus and purges it from Ethan's computer. The Antivirus has been severely damaged in the battle and... CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO EXPLODE ANYWAY (you see explosions make everything cool). Here we get to the superhero power part - so in the ensuing explosion, the antivirus is somehow able to bond itself with Ethan (as well as getting him coated in oversweetened soda), giving him the ability to download files, and make them corporeal for short amounts of time; for instance, why have porn as a video file on your computer when you can watch it unfold on your very own bed! Protokol, albeit now being quite the nerd, is still in extremely good shape, and still rather attractive, which helped develop the large ego he has today. Over excess play of Dance Dance Revolution he has quite a bit more stamina and strength than the average person and has a fast reaction time due to overabundant playing of video games. Also through watching illegally downloaded action movies and chinese martial arts flicks, he has been able to develop his own form of self defence, as improvisatory as they may be. This overdose of movies has left Protokol a little detached to reality (which shouldn't be too much of a problem in SMT) and can attempt tactics that can be branded as extreme courage and bravery, or more often or not, complete stupidity. He also boasts the ability to break the 4th wall by regurgitating internet fads and quotes. AMAZING! |
| Weaknesses | Being heavily reliant on bandwidth and electrics, he is very prone to magnetic waves and interference as they can distort his creations into 404s or even cause a different, more inappropriate website to spring to life (goatse.cx anyone?). Ethan also hates dial-up, popups, spyware, being banned, the Blue Screen of Death, and e-mail spam asking him whether he would want a larger pen fifteen. |
| Skills | Seeing as his parents can't cook, Ethan's become the chef of the house and quite a good one at that, he's rather agile and despite his childish behaviour, is rather intelligent. |

He’s a light brown colored rodent with a white muzzle and chest. Often seen round town wearing a tight dark brown colored leather jacket he received from his friends as a present when he was younger, several sizes too small for him now as well as a T-Shirt that reads “cheer up emo kid”. When he’s out for a Pizza Delivery run, he dons the Red and White SMT Pizza uniform complete with cap, which he likes to wear backwards, classic 80s retro style. |
| Other Description | Blue and Yellow spandex uniform, blue mask, chunky boots found under the bed, the stereotypical blue underwear on the outside garb. His tail serves as a wireless internet connection, also enabling him to plug himself into any telecommunications socket and travelling via the web, and has about a terabyte of hard-disk space on his costume. A wrist computer on his arm helps accessibility to this. There are also other nifty gadgets attached around his person. |
| History |
The story of Protokol, let's begin somewhere, he's born somewhere not all that special and in a place nobody could really care about and is the alter ego of a kid named Ethan Nett. Ethan was 12 when a giant pineapple from space levelled his home town of Wotevaburg, half of the inhabitants were never heard from again; the giant piece of fruit bursting out of the sky most likely due to fruit tossing contest held on the moon by a group of spaceninjapirates. Losing all of his friends in this incident, Ethan’s family travelled around frequently trying to find a new place to call home. Not having much to do or enough time to make new friends, Ethan spent a lot of his time, if not all of his time on the internet. Although quite the extravert, active and social kind, he began spending more and more time talking to people on the internet instead of bothering to hang out with new people, and to those he left behind during his travels, generally fell off the face of the planet.
Ethan’s family has now set up residence in SuperMegaTopia, at the Double Vision Townhomes Cul de sac, whether he’s there to stay or not is still rather uncertain. His parents themselves have become very antisocial themselves, and have resorted to just staying indoors to watch television, and have both developed a bad habit of the typical Couch Potato. Ethan, having a heroic drive, has decided to use these powers for good (well and internet fame) and became known as Protokol after ordering some stuff off of KBay and putting it together to make a superhero costume. He still lives with his mother and father, his father generally doesn't acknowledge his existance and his mother just provides a roof for him. I mean in his life, they’re not too important anymore; they do parenty stuff, like breathe, eat and occasionally argue over who lost the TV remote for hours. Oh and an internet connection that Ethan must pay for himself, by working at the local Pizza Delivery Service. Ethan hopes to one day find his superhero image slapped on the pages of fan sites all over the internet and for people to remember him as a great person. |
| Major Events | Since being in SMT he’s developed quite a reputation for himself, and has had quite the bumpy start with everyone as his extravert active behaviour and beliefs has only caused other denizens to look down on him, or even plot his death. |
